Here are a few of my many musings…

Secret Beauty
As you move delicately through uncertain days
Unaware of my loving heart’s gaze
I see your secret beauty
The wonder of your soul depths
Beyond physical form
I sense your tenderness
Your pure light shining
In ways you don’t always realise
The love that glows from your soul
In vast radiance
Even on the darkest night
May you know your inner secret beauty
That always remains whole and pure
For this is the place within
Where the light of God resides
The holiness of our true Home
Wholehearted Women
These words flowed through my heart early on Easter morning. This poem might honour women, yet not above men. We belong together. Perhaps in these challenging, emotional times, the Holy Spirit can lead us to the light, caring for our Earth and each other; trusting divine guidance and taking compassionate action, not passive apathy.
May you be empowered by shining your light.
Wholehearted Women
Remember to live your sacred dreams
Remember, Jesus would not have walked this Earth
If it were not for his loving mother Mary
Remember the power of woman within you
Remember, you are a creator of unique visions
Remember, you have the courage of all the women
Who walked before you were born
Within you
Remember, women are the healers and dreamers
Who gently nurture seeds into beauty and nourishment
That keep us all alive
We are the guardians of our Mother Earth
Remember you cannot be crushed
As you have the power of every woman
Who has risen above suppression
Who has overcome fear, violence and abuse
Who has held her head up in war, famine or flood
In your soul
Love is your birthright
Breathe in the vast calm of stillness
Breathe out courage
We are the way-showers
Let’s forge a gentle way
We are the Light that is beyond all understanding
We are mothers and daughters
We are the circle of friends
Who lead with grace and fierce compassion
No one can control our voice
No one can deny our Love
Unstoppable
Powerful
Liberated
Graceful
Wholehearted women
Symphony of the Sublime

May 2022
Listening to the Isle of Wight symphony orchestra at the Medina Theatre gave me a glimpse into the sublime.
At first, I was entranced by the complexity of melodies and near perfect rhythm and harmony of all the musicians playing. As the journey continued, soaking in sweet tender flute solos, gentle vistas within, of nature’s wonders.
I gazed upon and appreciated all the beautiful souls who pour their heart into music, feeling the ebb and flow of sound waves, hearing the beauty ranging from the tinkling triangle to the intense clash of cymbal and resonant, focused drum. I felt the bright and clear contrasts of angelic harp glissandos, all the way to vibrant brass, the many violins like a friendly, comforting support team gathered round. Grieg’s piano concerto created a powerful atmosphere of light and dark. The virtuoso pianist Florian Mitrea from Romania (that borders Ukraine) brought in new depths. He touched the keys with intense, moody mastery, then tremolos as delicate as a feather, shimmers up and down with deft speed, every phrase fresh and enthralling. We were so near I could see he was initially whispering a prayer with a demeanour of unwavering courage. Listening to the silent space between the sounds.
The feeling as we all naturally rose to our feet in compassionate solidarity whilst the Ukrainian National Anthem was played was indescribable. For a moment all hearts beating as one prayer. Our resolve to support echoed afterwards, with the vibrant clapping of hands that give love.
The final piece was Enigma Variations by Elgar, who lived by the Malvern Hills that I know so well. During a magnificent, lingering unforeseen moment, I saw great white angels, encircling the skies, to meet the inner vision of vast reality, pure light. I heard divine whispers telling me to compose, to create, blessed by God’s peace. I sensed the subtle guidance pour in to a hidden place in me, like planting seeds in the dark soil, to awaken later, when the sun of wisdom illumines.
I returned to my physical place in the audience, refreshed, grateful, calm and joyful. I cherish this night of music imbued with pure spirit, blessed to enjoy this wondrous delight with my caring parents, to shine our light together.
Beyond our understanding, the music of the spheres unites us all as one world family.
